Tourism
Holidays, city breaks and other short-term tourist travel.
For short stays in the Schengen Area, it is important to apply to the appropriate country,
select the category that reflects the purpose of travel and prepare supporting documents consistently.
At Altun Vision, we assess your application in line with your personal profile and travel plan
and coordinate the process from start to finish.
A Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) is an entry authorisation issued to visa-required travellers for short and temporary visits to the Schengen Area.
As a general rule for short stays, the total stay may not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period. A Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) may be issued for single or multiple entry; its validity period and permitted duration of stay are stated on the visa sticker.
Longer stays exceeding 90 days for study, work, family reunification or similar purposes fall outside the scope of a Schengen short-stay visa (Type C) and are assessed under the relevant country’s national visa and residence procedures.

We review your travel plan to assess which Schengen country the application should be submitted to.
We identify the appropriate category based on your purpose of travel, such as tourism, family/friend visit, business, conference or another relevant category.
We prepare a personalised document list based on your professional status, financial profile, purpose of travel and previous travel/visa history.
We coordinate the appointment and application process in line with the procedures of the relevant consulate or authorised application centre.
We review forms, supporting letters, reservations, travel health insurance and other documents to ensure the file is ready for submission, and we follow post-submission notifications.
For itineraries covering more than one country, the main destination must be identified correctly.
The form, reservations, invitation, financial documents and explanations should support one another.
Declared income, employment status and financial documents should be consistent with the applicant’s overall profile.
Previous visas, refusal decisions, prior stays and travel history should be considered together when preparing a new file.
A Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa application can generally be submitted no earlier than six months before the planned trip. As a rule, applications are expected to be lodged at least 15 days before travel.
However, because appointment availability, document preparation and country-specific practices may vary, we recommend not leaving the application until the final days before travel.
Processing times depend on the assessment of the relevant consulate. Although general official timeframes exist, the actual processing period may vary due to application volume, the nature of the file and any need for additional review.
A valid Schengen short-stay (Type C) visa may generally allow travel within the Schengen Area; however, the visa type, validity dates, permitted duration of stay and any territorial limitations must be taken into account.
Assessment varies according to the applicant’s profile, purpose of travel, supporting documents and the country handling the application. The application country should be determined by the genuine travel plan and main destination, not by perceptions of which country may be “easier.”
For travel covering several countries, the appropriate application country is determined by considering the itinerary, time spent in each country and the main destination.
The general maximum for short stays is 90 days in any 180-day period; however, the visa issued may permit fewer days. The visa validity dates and authorised duration of stay must therefore be considered together.
Yes. However, it is important to review the refusal grounds and the previous application carefully before reapplying. A new file should not simply repeat the previous application unchanged.
No. The final decision rests with the competent diplomatic or consular authority of the relevant country. Our advisory service focuses on presenting the application under the correct category with consistent documentation and appropriate preparation.
